Step 1: Access Call Routing Settings

To create or update a call routing plan, use the desktop app. (The mobile app allows you to select existing plans but not create or modify them.)

  1. Open the desktop app.
  2. Click the hamburger menu and select Settings.
  3. Navigate to the Call Routing section.

Step 2: Add a New Call Routing Plan

  1. Click the + icon to add a new plan.
  2. Give the plan a descriptive name, such as “Remote”
  3. Set time preferences. For example, route all calls to voicemail after 5 p.m. to ensure uninterrupted downtime.

Step 3: Configure Device and Call Options

  1. Choose your preferred device for receiving calls:
    • Softphone: Ideal for desktop or laptop use.
    • PSTN: For routing calls to a specific phone number, such as your cell phone.
  2. Set the ring duration (e.g., 20 seconds) and assign a sequence value. This determines the call order among devices.

Step 4: Save Your Plan

  1. Click the Save icon and confirm changes.
  2. Once saved, the new plan will appear in your call routing options.

Step 5: Add a Second Sequence (Optional)

To create a backup option:

  1. Add a second sequence that routes calls to a different device, like a cell phone, if the first option isn’t answered.
  2. Set the sequence value (e.g., 2) and ring duration for the backup option.

Step 6: Activate Your Call Routing Plan

  1. From the Call Routing menu, select your new plan as the active one.
  2. Specify the days it should apply—e.g., weekdays for the “Remote” plan and weekends for voicemail-only routing.
  3. Save your changes.

Additional Tip: Quick Call Plan Updates

You can also switch plans directly from the call routing icon with arrows. This method allows for fast adjustments like forwarding all calls to voicemail or activating specific plans as needed.
